Description
African Barrick Gold is currently seeking to appoint a Buyer in our Supply Chain Department at our Bedfordview, Johannesburg Office. Although this position will be based in Johannesburg, the incumbent will spend a significant amount of time at our mines.
The position will be responsible for the following:
· Understanding of the procure to pay as well as contract to procure process
· Analytical abilities to evaluate and adjudicate order
· Numerical abilities and basic understanding of the working of escalation on contracts
· Risk mitigation and resolution of disputes on orders placed
· Corrections of errors on Oracle / Pronto and regular review of inputs
· Escalation in issues and errors to management
· Required to meet deadlines and set goals
· Develop and maintain the vendor master
· Analyses of price behavior and basic escalation
· Run tender and RFQ process
· Evaluation of tenders / Supplier quotes
· Contract Administration (capture, filing, monitor, manage, goals / services receipt)
· Execution of orders
· Expediting of orders
· Reporting on Savings
· Commercially managing of low value / low risk contracts and orders
· Up-to-date filing of all administration
· Interaction with End-Users at meetings and enquiry feedback
· Ensure Audit Trails
Qualification and experience

• Education: A relevant qualification in Purchasing
• 3 - 5 years purchasing experience in a multinational Mining / Engineering environment
• 3 - 5 years experience in the Supply Chain Management environment

Computer literacy: Supply Chain ERP system / Oracle / Pronto / Word / Excel / PowerPoint

Our Client - An International Gold Producer is looking for a Technical Services Manager for their Mine in Tanzania.
Job Description
· Develop and implement annual Mining Operations cost budgets and production plans in accordance with the Mine Long Term Strategic Plan, and to meet the regional deadlines for submission.
· Prepare (and operate within) annual cost budgets for Technical Services, reporting on cost variations as required.
· Coordinate the activities of the Mine Planning (Short Term), Mine Planning (Long Term), Survey, Geotechnical, Ventilation, Geology and Diamond Drilling Sections within the Technical Services Department.
· Ensure provision of written and/or verbal and operational reports and information as required by management or stakeholders, including government authorities.
· Provide leadership, supervision, skills training and support for employees in accordance with departmental requirements and individual Progress and Development Plans.
· Actively foster two-way communication, teamwork among employees within the Technical Services Department and encourage interdepartmental cooperation to achieve company objectives.
· Provide the leadership and motivation necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to all policies, standards and procedures during the execution of their duties.
· Develop, implement and monitor systems to collect, validate and analyze all relevant planning and performance information to assist in the optimum extraction of the ore.
· Create a working environment that ensures that employees gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programmes.
· Execute the implementation of localization plans and performance management processes to ensure optimum employee performance and behaviour through effective knowledge and skills development.
· Continually review every aspect of the Technical Services Department to ensure that opportunities to add value and increase shareholder wealth are identified and implemented.
· Participate in the management meetings and operational teams to ensure that targets for resources extraction, capital management, cost control, safe working, employee development, environmental management and corporate governance are achieved.
